Tracking
My home studio is "open concept" meaning that I am in the same room with the performer while they track, in my experience this makes communication much easier, and tracking less intimidating. My base price for tracking is $35 per hour. I also have access to Cold War Studios in Grand Rapids, this will require an extra fee to account for the cost of renting the space.
Mixing
I take a hybrid approach to mixing, where I use analog gear along side digital. This makes mix revisions much easier while also being able to add some analog goodness to the mix. I may blend in samples or I may not use any samples at all, it all depends on what your music calls for. Base price for mixing starts at $150 per song and may be more or less based on how many songs I'm mixing and how much work I need to put into it (i.e. blending or replacing drums with samples, etc.)
Mastering
After doing this for a little while, I recommend hiring a separate mastering engineer if I am mixing. I will gladly master your music, but it's always better to have a second set of ears on your music! My typical mastering rate is $8 per minute of audio.
Editing
I edit all of the projects I work on, I also do editing work for other engineers. I have done editing for Nineteen Stars Recording, Landmine Studios and others. I am affordable and my clients have been very satisfied. Typical editing prices are around $10 per minute of audio.
Re-amping
Send me a dry DI track and I can send it through any of my real amps or outboard gear. Re-amping is a flat rate of $35 unless I'm also mixing, in which case it will be included in the cost to mix.
Producing
I love to act as an extra member of the band and offer my ideas and insight, I don't charge extra for this.
Guitar and Bass Performance
I've been playing guitar and bass for over 15 years and I'm very meticulous about getting good takes. I'm more than willing to track guitar or bass for your songs! Rates depend on complexity and length of the material.
