My name is Jon Barefoot, I love tube amps, fast hardcore and JRPGS. I've played in hardcore / punk and indie bands for the last 10+ years such as Bitter Truth, Split Up and TOL. I started to mess around with recording in 2009 at the age of 16 with a cheap interface and a totally legal copy of FL Studio from Limewire. In 2015 I started to demo my band's songs and my interest grew from there.

During 2020 while I had a lot of time on my hands, I dove headfirst into learning about recording and mixing; I became obsessed. In 2024 / 2025 I completed a mentorship program with Boston producer Jay Maas (Defeater, Cruel Hand, etc.), which completely overhauled my approach to producing music.  Over the past 5 years I have built out a studio in the basement of my home and acquired much of the industry standard gear that you would find in a more "proper" studio. My modus operandi is to work with what you've got: No studio is perfect, no song is perfect, but these are the things that make them interesting. Anyone can pull up an amp sim and EZdrummer and start recording, but it takes someone with a good ear to make it unique; This is what I offer.
